I was so ready, I had a lot to learn but I had tripled my follower count, my stream was doing really well at that point and I felt like I was about to catapult my way to success. After ASUS ROG which was my breakout event covering for a sick Kaelaris, I really wanted to take on the world. I won't go into details into every event but eventually I started to make it kinda big in our small little galaxy and make a little (not a lot) of money. Honestly, I really believed I could be someone who made the competitive scene better than before I joined and if today is to be my final day, I think I have made moments and memories that improved the lifespan of my favourite game ever. Thay are my inspiration in everything in life from comedy to games to even my general outlook, but more on that later. Like most people I had tried my hand at talking about Starcraft and even though i've never been any good at the game I loved it and I have always been very quick witted, sarcastic and able to make people laugh, incontrol and totalbiscuit taught me that maybe that could mean a career. It was many MAAANY years later that I thought I could really do something though. I followed the games competitive scene since day 1 and specifically the UK scene in the early days was very important to me, prompting me in 2011/2012 to join Team Dignitas as a writer interviewing people like Apollo, 2GD, Incontrol and TotalBiscuit. I will take a short minute to reminisce and feed my ego, I got into SC2 during beta, I was into Brood War casually but LOVED Dawn of War, spent hundreds of hours with my best friend in high school playing that and trying to make online play happen just dreaming of how fun it would be. The Story of my SC2 Career.Īs you may have seen today Creighton Olsen (<3) posted his covering letter today as well as a short post explaining that he had not been approached for DreamHack Last Change, ASUS ROG or TSL - To add to this, I too have not been approached by any of these events to provide any coverage at all and as such a time is coming when I will be looking onward from Starcraft content creation and into my future. The future of GrantSC2 and a note about the past.
